A treasure hunt. How could he be late for an treasure hunt? Who knew what kinds of wonderful goodies were just waiting for him to find! Fio had scurried away from Jester despite his partner's protests for him to slow down, weaving his way with ease through the crowded plaza thanks to his small stature and beelining for Tricklestone Park as fast as his little legs would carry him. He finally reached the edge of the park and stopped for a breath, doubling over with swift little pants though he gave himself all of five seconds for a breather before round pink eyes were flashing up to survey the scene.
PokΓ©mon of all sorts were swarming the scenic area, peering under bushes and climbing into trees, checking every nook and cranny for anything of value. If they were still looking, that meant there was still goodies to be found, right? The Fomantis flailed his little blades with a gleeful squeal, tottering excitedly off the beaten path and scurrying over to the first rock he laid his eyes upon, reaching to grasp the edge of it try and heave it up for inspection. It was heavier than it looked, or rather he wasn't as physically adept as he liked to think. Maybe he should have waited for Jester.
Brushing that thought aside he tottered aside with a huff, staring at the stone dejectedly before his expression set in determination and he brushed himself off. He was a valued member of the hunters' guild, he could lift a rock! So he surged forward again and thrust himself into the rock once again, giving a heave of exertion as he struggled under its weight though slowly but surely, he managed to tilt it a few inches off the ground.

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] I'm useless but not for long the future is coming on With her attention almost solely on the other Pokemon present, Durand ended up lightly stubbing her foot on a stone. She winced slightly, but didn't make a big scene about it, and turned her attention downward. Stupid rock! Oh... oh, wait... Inside the pile that she now realized was partially made up of the one she kicked, she saw something colorful. Now... how to get it out? After looking around the decorative stone pile, she found an opening that would allow her to retrieve the egg without too much trouble. Once she opened it, however, she found that instead of a simple item that she could stash away, a light poured out from the egg. Eyes widened, she snapped the egg closed again and whipped her head around to see who, if anyone, had noticed her strange find. It seemed as though no one noticed and she gingerly put away the egg as a whole, vowing to figure out what it was later. Clearing her throat and trying to look innocent, she continued to look around. Now, her attention was most definitely on the hunt rather than the others. Maybe... what about that line of bushes? Surely there would be another egg hidden in the branches or around the roots of those! 0ys3UWd81-100 1-100

By the time Jester had managed to barge her way through the bustling plaza, she'd lost Fio. Sure, the lil sap could hold his own in a battle, but yet his overly trusting nature made him too liable to the wrong sort and as a result, she couldn't supress the surge of panic as she dashed in the direction of the park she knew he'd been heading for. An egg hunt, a goddamn kids' event had excited her partner enough to have him ditch her side. Then again, she knew fine well by this point that the little Fomantis was still little more than a child at heart. She hated herself for having developed such a soft spot for the idiot.
The Banette grumbled as she slowed at the edge of the park, her bicoloured glare flashing left and right as she looked to hone in on the familiar hues of green and pink. On no other occasion would she dare be seen partaking in such a childish event as this. Besides, she didn't want to go spooking any pussy children with her ghastly appearance. So she tucked up her scarf around her sinister zipped smirk and begrudgingly trudged onto the path, ignorant to the wary glances her shifty appearance might have gained from competitors as she occupied herself with her main task of locating Fiorello.

And it echoes in the halls [attr="class","quicklinks"] Elodie [attr="class","quicklinks"]905 words D: WHAT IS MY TIMING ;-; thanks for the pity tag #00bacc - speech color | [attr="class","technoscroll"] β Judas cringed guiltily as Elodie, with all the suddenness of a purrloin before a puddle, stopped dead in her tracks, gaze whipping around to look at him in wide confusion, her features the perfect picture of innocent bafflement, as though he had just said he didn't know what the sky was, or grass. Her gaze travelled upward and he slowly dared to relax as she pondered it through before shrugging. He honestly had no idea what she was talking about though, was it some kind of item? A place? She was talking about a team and joining it, so maybe it was some kind of group, but he had never really heard of pokemon teaming up beyond families, or mates, with the occasional pack. Then again, that's what had brought him here, was that team exploring and delving through the wilderness. He had never seen or heard of anything before, they had been so surprising, so different. So terrifying. And yet so curious. PokΓ©mon, working together, towards a common goal. Being friends. They were still hurting so many, and they were doing it on purpose, they were seeking out fights and battling four to one. It had been a nightmare. But... he wasn't sure entirely, yet the idea of them being able to trust one another had seemed so inspiring. Elodie was walking again, though slower, and Judas padded after her at an easy steady pace. He nodded as she explained, both confirming what he had seen with teams and expanding it. He tilted his head at the second part, confused at what exactly 'treasure' was or why they wanted it, but the eevee, grinning suddenly, flashed into some bushes, her fluffy body squirming to squeeze inside the foliage. A moment later she was back, an egg in her jaws. She mumbled something around the object, but it was all vowels, and Judas only frowned even more quizzically as he paused to watch her, tail curling to brush against his talons. She spat it out, repeating herself before cracking open the egg. "L-like... eggs?" He murmured, trying desperately to understand. Elodie eagerly began scooping up the coins that had spilled out of the egg, and Judas eyed them, impressed by their gleam and familiar with their appearance but not really sure what good they were. He had seen some pokemon use them in their nests and others hoard them, but overall they were rather useless, they didn't do anything and you couldn't eat them. Before he could ask her why she was so excited to find a bunch of metal disks though, Elodie chirped up, explaining the coins. Buy... supplies? Then she paused, as though something were wrong, and continued, mentioning evolving. He blinked, eyes widening. "O-oh.... I.... wh-what do you mean by b-buy? D-do you need help...? I-I think I-I've found some of those c-coins before... th-they a-always seemed pretty useless b-but if you need them to e-evolve..." He swallowed, clicking his beak as he shifted his weight slightly at his awkward attempt to offer her help. He wondered what kind of pokemon she evolved into anyways... it seemed like it was a big deal to her though. Elodie smiled though, and her mood was bright again as she continued. Judas flicked his tail behind him, dipping his head slightly as he cocked his head another direction. "Y-you can't? Wh-why not...?" Not that he didn't doubt her evolving would make her stronger but... he wasn't sure why she couldn't do everything as she was right now? She looked pretty fierce and capable to him... another question came to him a moment later, more hesitantly. "...and wh-whats an explorer?" He mumbled quietly, uncertain and apologetic. A question was posed to him, and Judas ruffled his feathers as he adjusted his wings, surprised as he tried to consider it. Evolve? Well... he didn't know.... she seemed really excited, and as she pointed out his various parts he found himself looking as well, or as best he could since he couldn't really see his teeth, but he ran his tongue over them, reminded of how awkward and uneven they were, several poking outside his beak above and below, giving him a scraggly look. He shrugged helplessly, sinking into himself a little as he glanced away. "I... I d-don't know... I-I've never really th-thought about it before. I've just been... w-well I've been l-like this so l-long... I-I don't know that I c-could evolve." Or, if he could, if he could ever adapt to it or be comfortable with it. Maybe it would be nice to be bigger, but that isn't the only thing that would change would it? He wasn't sure... he had only ever been an archen. Fast, agile, awkward, flightless. He wasn't even sure what he evolved into, and he knew mama had never talked about evolving. She had always just been exactly as she was she said, and he sort of thought he might be the same... Elodie was crouched at him, her fore-paws stretched out on the ground before her and her haunches raised high. 'We should train sometime' she was saying, and surprised, Judas straightened a bit. "T-train? Y-you think so? H-how... I... I mean, s-sure...." She was straightening with a laugh, and moving on for the moment however, and following after her, he nodded dumbly as he traced a step after her, looking around for the strange eggs they were collecting. hLE8RauY1-100 |

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] I'm useless but not for long the future is coming on The Scraggy scoured the bushes up and down, even ripping her skin "pants" slightly on a branch. Nothing... She frowned slightly, meanwhile wondering how much that other egg could sell for... Ooh, she'd be in for a special treat later on, she was sure of it. For now, she wandered around the park. Still more Pokemon were arriving this late to the event, she was amazed. Durand thought for sure she'd be the last one, but it turned out there were others that had slept in too or maybe just had other errands today. Whatever the case, she observed the other Pokemon in the area for a moment before moving to look more toward the training area. Sure, if you wanted to relax, it was generally suggested that you steer clear of that area, but... hey, she figured there probably weren't many people training at this time. Too much noise, she'd assume... Yeah, definitely. At least, she hoped. F_wp1U0|1-100 1-100

Phoebe straightened up upon finding nothing in the second flower bed, a look that almost resembled betrayal having settled on her features. The Espurr sighed, running her paw over her head and twirling an overgrown tuft around it.
"Well..." the psychic-type murmured, simply turning and inclining her head towards the third and final flower bed in the row, tapping her paw pensively against her satchel as she admired it. "Third time's the charm, I suppose, " Phoebe sighed, wandering over and crouching, wistfully parting the flowers to peer into the bed. This was the third flower patch... Surely she would find something in it...? How could someone not hide anything in such a lavish spot? Then again, she too would be hesitant if it risked young PokΓ©mon trampling the beautiful new blooms. It was worth searching, nonetheless...

[googlefont="Raleway"] | An egg hunt! An egg hunt! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! This was so super exciting! Rana flapped his wings mightily, hovering over the park from up above. He thought maybe he'd be able to catch sight of something from up there, but he had no luck. So instead, he came down closer to the ground and looked around a bit.
That is, right up until he came across some flower beds and an Espurr looking frustrated -- at least from his perspective -- and he fluttered closer. "Hey, what's wrong? Are you having some trouble finding eggs?" Surely that had to be it, right? Ah, well, he'd hover closer, trying to be careful about his wing beats not disturbing the flowers more than a soft wave over them. He'd help her look! Surely that would be a good thing, right?

Nothing, still. Phoebe gave a sigh of defeat and straightened up, turning her back on the flower beds dejectedly. By the look on her face, one would think she had just been deviously betrayed by an old and faithful friend. Though she perked her head to the sound of an unfamiliar voice, turning around and faltering in initial confusion to find nothing, though the consistent sound of beating wings coaxed her into raising her round violet gaze upwards.
She blinked as her attention fell upon a rather peculiarly coloured Noibat, and going by the fact he was looking right back at her she could only assume that it had been her he was addressing. Was he looking to help? When this was supposed to be a competition? Feeling somewhat heartened by the odd sight, a ghost of a smile crossed the Espurr's usually blank features before she straightened her satchel and looked about again.
"I suppose you could say that. I was rather late to the event, and it seems that all the best prizes have been snatched up already," she mewed back, her monotonous voice soft as her endearingly round stare fell back upon the young civilian again, cocking her head a little in question. "Would you care to join me?"

The little Fomantis struggled valiantly with the weight of the rock, giving a hitched huff of victory as he managed to tilt it a mere few inches off of the ground for him to take a peek beneath, but as he went to do so he gave a startled squeak as his clumsy little blade hands slipped and the rock dropped flat on the grass once more. And in the process, onto his toes. Fio hopped back with a squeak of distress, doubling over to cradle his foot and firing a glassy-eyed glare towards the inanimate object, rocking for a few moments before he recovered enough to straighten up again and puff out his chest. He was a hunter of the Aestemian Guild, it would take more than a rock to bring him down!
He dragged his eyelids down and impishly pulled a face at the stupid thing before spinning around again with an ignorant huff, glancing back and forth for his next stop before his eyes landed on a blossoming bush. He perked up, dejected demeanour immediately brightening as he scurried over, his failure of the rock forgotten as his expression then set into determination and he lunged himself into the bush, his small stature easily swallowed up by the leaves as he scoured for treasure.

Nothing. She'd already pulled through one lap of the park and still, no Fomantis in sight. That little ball of sunshine could be a real devil when he wanted to be--
Jester scowled as she drew up once more to the entrance to Tricklestone Park, having looped around once with fruitless findings, turning to glare once more around the contradictorily delightful scene. Where had he tottered off to? Concern began to stir unpleasantly in her gut-- What if he hadn't made it to the park? She decided to brush off her worries before they could marinate too long. She was a hunter, it was her job to find things. And Fio was the only 'thing' she'd grown to care about.
She simmered down again with a long sigh, drawing a clawed hand across her face in exasperation before she set out once more along the toepath, being sure to avert her gaze from any one individual before they could get the idea that her sinister scowl was directed at them. Egg hunt, schmegg hunt. This whole event was a load of kids crap, and Fio would be sure to get one hell of an earful from her once she found him. How many times would she have to lecture him about running off before the idiot would listen?

what i want is what i get β β β β THOUGH I MAY GET WHAT I DESERVE SOMEDAY, FOR NOW, I MERELY GET WHAT I WANT. Flurry rushed on all fours when she spotted what looked like an egg to her. Only, guess what? It was a nut. Not an egg, and not even an empty nest where eggs used to reside, but a nut that happened to be shaped like an egg. What was with her and her luck today? There was not a shred of anything less than frustration in her body. First, she found a seed, then she found a less impressive see (if that's even possible), and now she found a rotting, dirty nut! The quadruped snarled as she kicked the nut aside in frustration. She could care less if it just so happened to hit a Pokemon in the head. She just continued her search for something more worth her time. The spoiled Vulpix's nose was buried deep in the grass. This stupid hunt wouldn't get the better of her, nope! [googlefont="Raleway"] | Rana just smiled a little goofily at the psychic-type, but he soon realized that it was probably better for him to walk along with her rather than hover over her. How rude that was! So he landed near the flower bed and looked, but clearly the Espurr hadn't found anything here... and, well, neither did he. He frowned, gazing over at her dejected look before he fluttered his ears at her offer to join him.
"That sounds great! I just got here myself, so I'm probably even worse off than you," he remarked with a laugh. To him, it was more of a game than a competition. So he looked around and hummed. "Look! Maybe in that stone wall, yeah?" He pointed toward it with his wing, looking excitedly at Phoebe. If she had a different idea, he'd follow her instead, but otherwise he'd hurry over clumsily to the low barrier and begin to look all over.

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] I'm useless but not for long the future is coming on Ah! An apple. What wonderful food. Durand beamed a little, positively delighted by the discovery. She tucked away the nourishing fruit and continued to look about. Now the area really seemed to be bustling. Better make sure she was on the ball, so to speak. The Scraggy moved over to a flowering tree and started to investigate it. In the branches, maybe? Nestled in the roots? Maybe there was a hole in the tree somewhere? The Pokemon could be seen awkwardly climbing the tree, eventually, searching every part of the trunk and any part of the branches she could safely reach. 009AmT3i1-100 1-100
