He would do anything to keep his chin up, and refuses to show weakness. Of course, this meant that when he was embarrassed in front of his entire Pride, his first instinct was to run. He doesn't tend to think things through very well or for any real period of time before he takes action. Derry is loyal to those that he takes into his 'pride', although his loyalty and single-minded intensity in everything he does can be a bit intimidating to others. When he sets his mind to something, he refuses to accept failure. He doesn't believe in giving up. Considering he didn't grow up in a town or around a lot of different Pokemon, he sometimes doesn't respond to situations in the same way as some others. [attr="class","titeidol"]traits

[attr="class","titeidol"]history Derry was born on the plains, away from 'civilization', the son of the Alpha of the Wildstrike Pride. As a very young cub, he was told stories of glory and war. Much of his youth was spent in training, learning all he needed to be a good leader. He was the heir, after all, as oldest son, although middle child. In his litter, there had also been two sisters, but as females they were not first choice to inherit the Pride. His older sister, Cora, was much too soft for the job, and she hated to fight. His younger sister, Leigh, however, was a spitfire that spoke up often about how unfair it was that she was not the heir to the throne. Eventually, their father got tired of hearing the quarrels between them, and agreed that they would fight for the title of ruler. Despite considering himself an able fighter, Derry ended up losing. He wasn't forced to leave, but he was disgraced and ashamed and so he left. After traveling a while, he stumbled upon Elysia, and stayed, intrigued by the opportunity to become a hunter.
