"Grainier than I remember."
Slipping his feet against the sand, moving almost as if the sand spun, Radek tapped against the beach-sand. Salty, summer breeze washed over a fairly-traveled earth, carrying in the odd rock or shell buried in the beachfront. Yet, upon encountering the beachfront Radek squat in place, eyes watching the high tide work against the land. Massive blue waves effortlessly sifted through coral, drowning the cries of whatever lied behind.
For entering a supposed endless reef, Radek had his motives. Waxing nostalgia, looking back to a place where Radek might have crawled at one point, was the smallest of them. Seabreeze, though nice to awaken to, couldn't be his only reason for moving out this far. Talk of the town declared this section of reef dangerous, an area where Explorers supposedly disappeared for good. One even spoke of bottomless pits that swallowed from within. He barely realized that not all Pokemon shared his morphology. It would be difficult for the Geodude to roll into the water without weighing itself down. That didn't make the claim anything but the claim of a person unprepared.
A hardly charted reef would be perfect for testing his newfound strength, Radek decided.
The other motive, given the huge bag and the preparation granted: profit. Any Pokemon worth their salt would have secured their goods before going into open territory. Radek, with a bag zipped around his person and strapped to the top of his shell like a bizarre pair of sightless aviators, embodied that purpose perfectly. After all, as far as Radek knew, the satchels of the missing were worth more than rotting at the bottom of the sandbar.
I remember what I've needed. No point in wasting more time."[/color] Radek side-stepped into the tide, and fell in its ebb.
The wave gargled and splashed against sand.
Radek, defiantly snipping his claw, marched onward.
