For his small stature, he possesses an immense imagination and even larger dreams. More than anything, Laust wants to explore the land. He wants to discover its many secrets, go where no Pokemon has gone before, and - maybe, just maybe - find a place to call his own. In his special spot, there would be no one to judge him, no one to laugh at him or make snarky comments about his intelligence, no one to tell him what he could or couldn't do. As far as he's concerned, he's a plucky youngster with nothing holding him back; the world is his oyster, and he's more than ready to explore every inch of it. However, just as it is the driving force behind his actions, Laust's grandiose hopes also inhibit him in many ways. It is due to his single-mindedness that he finds it hard to interact with other people. Any minute not spent chasing his goal is a minute wasted, so, unless someone is planning to join him on his spelunking, Laust just doesn't have the time to socialize with them. Additionally, Laust is intensely stubborn, so much so that it is nearly impossible to change his mind once he has tunnel vision. In Laust's world, his way is the right way, and dissenting opinions simply go into one ear and out the other. [attr="class","titeidol"]history There had always been something a little off about Laust. Some attributed his vacant stare and unresponsiveness to the time he had taken a nasty tumble out of a tree. When his parents had finally found him, he was half-conscious and, as they asked him what had happened, he babbled on and on about how he was so sure that, if he had just jumped high enough, he could fly. Others claimed that he had always been this way. An elder relative had examined Laust soon after he had hatched, and recoiled in horror at his droopy dorsal fin. Soon, word had spread of the incident, and it followed Laust around well into his teen years. "It's that fin!" The neighbors would whisper as they watched him wander into the forest without so much as a second thought to the wild Pokemon who lived there, the ones who would chew him up and spit him out. "No Mudkip has a fin that flops over like that! I'm telling you, he has a few screws loose, that one." And, in spite of his parents' constant embarrassment, Laust never made any particular effort to dispel the rumors of his addled state. It shouldn't matter what anyone else thought of him; who cared that Johnny thought he was slow, or that Lucy wouldn't give him the time of day because she was scared of him tarnishing her immaculate reputation? All that was important to Laust was his own happiness and the insistent burning in his veins as his blood sang for adventure.
