[attr="class","groupidol"]Explorer | [attr="class","aboutmeidol"] [attr="class","titeidol"]personality Hornet is a bright little Shinx with a flare for the dramatic. She doesn't just want to accomplish her goals, no, she wants to get them done in the most flashy and exciting way possible (which, needless to say, is rarely the most efficient or foolproof way). She always seems to move when she's talking, always gesturing or pacing or both, and you'd think the electric type is her own perpetual motion machine. She isn’t good at being quiet, and even worse at being still. Although she has an informal way of speaking, she's good at getting what she wants, and she’s rather skilled at negotiating. She’s more clever than her impulsive nature would make her look, at first glance. She has the potential to be quite manipulative if she wants to, but she doesn't like to lean into that side of her personality, and she'll feel guilty if she does. She can become angry, of course, but she isn’t especially hotheaded. If she’s met with someone else’s anger, she’s more likely to get sad than to get angry back. Despite her silver tongue, Hornet doesn’t have any close connections to other people. This has made her quite lonely at heart. She responds with a level of enthusiasm towards any potential friends that tends to scares them off, further feeding into her loneliness, and the cycle continues. This also leads to her being clingy, and she isn’t likely to realize she’s being too attached or annoying unless someone tells her. She has a passion for exploring, and has since she was a child. This is what led her to the Explorer’s Division, and moreso, what led her to settling in Elysia. She has a great deal of respect for the Hunter’s Division and their work, born from a strong sense of justice, but she’s secure enough with her choices to know that the Explorer’s Division is the right one for her. [attr="class","titeidol"]history Hornet grew up in a peaceful little town by the sea, fittingly called Seabreeze Village. She grew up in a large family full of brothers and sisters, and was named for her uncommon black and gold fur. From a young age, she was the favorite of her parents. Her unique appearance was what started it, but it soon became a self-fulfilling prophecy. The favorite child was a role she played readily; pushing her siblings aside to stay in the spotlight and relishing in her parent’s attention. Her parents soon had a path planned out for their daughter: she would be the one who inherited the family business, a pawn shop that Hornet’s grandmother had opened, selling everything from exploration equipment to odd little knickknacks. Hornet had her own dreams, and she found herself drawn to the idea of exploring the world. Above all else, she wanted to cross the sea! But her parents were persuasive, and Hornet found the idea of falling out of their favor gave her pause. Eventually, she decided to start training to inherit the shop someday. She found herself quite skilled at it, growing skilled at negotiating, and the work kept her clever mind busy. Her parents decided to tell her the truth when she was 14. Most of their goods were stolen or smuggled from a mysterious red-horned Absol, a member of the criminal underground her grandmother had struck a deal with. Hornet was disgusted, but she pretended to take it in stride until she could leave the conversation without it seeming suspicious. She told her siblings the truth later that night, and then immediately went to the police. Hornet thought she’d be doing the right thing. She still thinks she did. But in speaking out, she burned all her bridges in Seabreeze Village. Her parents and grandparents went to prison. Her siblings weren’t close to her, after a lifetime of pushing them away so she could be her parent’s favorite. She already had few friends, and being from a line of criminals definitely wasn’t helping her to make any new ones. She lived for months in Seabreeze before realizing it wasn’t going to get any better, living here. She wasn’t happy here anymore, and so she packed her bags and left suddenly in the night, leaving everything and everyone she knew behind. It was freeing, and she reconnected with her childhood dream of exploring, investigating places she’d never been to or even heard of before with joy. It was freeing, but it was lonely, too. She found her way to Elysia recently, and signed up for the Explorer’s Division of their guild. It's a nice town, she thinks. The guild protects the village and keeps the peace, the mountains tower at the horizon, and she can even see the same gleaming sea she loved as a child. Perhaps this could be home. | [attr="class","glanceidol"]Hornet Cyrene [attr="class","glanceidol"]Hornet [attr="class","glanceidol"]Female [attr="class","glanceidol"]Shiny Shinx [attr="class","glanceidol"]Level 5 [attr="class","glanceidol"]18 [attr="class","glanceidol"]Lonely [attr="class","glanceidol"]Impetuous and silly [attr="class","glanceidol"]Guts [attr="class","glanceidol"]Played by Nova |
