[attr="class","groupidol"]civilian | [attr="class","aboutmeidol"] [attr="class","titeidol"]personality Dear Boss, Once again, Beaumont the Carvanha asked to enter the Guild on Hunter apprenticeship, but as per usual, I was forced to reject him. If I'm to officially report on the cause for this rejection, then I might as well describe Beau and both his positive and negative attributes that, over all, have contributed to my judgment. I'll begin with the positives. Beau has taken his father's disappearance and his mother's death better than many villagers expected over these past six years: whereas his father, Vice, was despondent after the result of that tragedy, Beau has remained upbeat, determined, and active in his daily pursuits. He is the opposite of laziness, having survived over these several years on--yes, sometimes the generosity of villagers, but largely on the merits of his own hard work. If he could work on some more...negative aspects of his personality, he could join the guild and inject some real inspiration, drive, and pride into the community as a whole. It's clear that for all of the (admittedly disgraceful) yelling matches he's engaged in with his peers, Beau deeply cares for those who gain his trust. His sense of devotion to his friends and his own, slightly skewed morals gives him a tenacious streak. In fact, on at least one occasion he's astonished residents in the village with his willingness to sacrifice his own health to protect another. More on that at another time, however. Now for the negatives. As I've said, Beau would make a great addition to the guild, but first he must address some serious shortcomings on his part. He has a reputation for aggressive behavior, especially when he is angry--and he is always, unfortunately, quick to anger. I'm not entirely sure why he's so short-tempered, since he doesn't hold the same fury for his mother's killer that his father has, but perhaps it's a combination of things. First, he tends to overdo his determination so that he closes himself off to all other suggestions. Second, his anger is often defensive, a reaction stemming from being over-sensitive and insecure. Third, since finding himself orphaned, Beau has had to struggle without authority figures to guide him. He's only seventeen years old and could do with some maturing. Lastly, I should mention some more minor disadvantages the guild might some day have to address, should Beau be admitted. He is not a planner by any means and a bit...slow, at that. I'm told that even in his childhood, Beau was never the brightest of the bunch. Not to mention his utter lack of control of himself and his penchant for over-eating. Still, these are but minor issues, and the real impediment to Beau's admittance to the guild is his rash and combative behavior--a dangerous combination, especially out in the wild where caution can mean success or failure. He must learn to listen to his elders, otherwise he is a ticking time-bomb who might threaten the safety of himself and others. Yours truly, Guild Secretary [attr="class","titeidol"]traits

[attr="class","titeidol"]history Beau was born to a pair of illustrious Hunters that worked together: his mother, Villy, a Sharpedo who (oddly enough) served as more of the brains of the duo, and his father, Vice, a Malamar who had captured countless powerful outlaws. Beau looked up to his parents immensely for their strength, sense of justice, and bravery, and from a young age he decided he would become a Hunter--just like them! His mother, however, kept encouraging Beau to keep up with school and learn about the world. Suffice to say from Beau's bumbling, blank-faced personality, he and academics didn't quite mesh. He seemed to have inherited his father's penchant for setting his sights on something, to the exclusion of all else, and chasing after it with unflinching determination. When Beau turned 11, the worse thing imaginable happened. His parents had taken on the case of capturing an outlaw that had kidnapped a civilian in town for ransom. Villy and Vice had managed to save the young child being held, but the outlaw escaped and killed Beau's mother in the process. The news devastated Beau but perhaps destroyed his father worse than anyone in the village could have imagined. After returning from the mission and conveying the news, he seemed numb and unable to truly help his son on an emotional level. Vice only stayed in the village for a few weeks before he left with barely a word, only a letter that said he planned to spend the rest of his life hunting down the elusive outlaw, so bring justice for his wife. The sudden departure stung Beau, but he also fully understood the righteousness behind his father's decision. In fact, Beau would quickly change his anger and sadness into a determination he still champions today: he will one day enter into the Aestemian Guild as a Hunter and join with his father to exact justice on his mother's killer. This determination had less to do with an obsession with bloody revenge--although Beau is sometimes not immune to such feelings--but more with a strong desire to uphold the scales of justice for his mother's ghost. He also yearns deeply to reconnect with his father, although Beau hasn't seen him in some 6 years. After his father left, Beau was left on his own. He became unofficially, semi-adopted by the town: everyone in Aestemia knew who he was, who his parents were, and the terrible tragedy his family had suffered. Not everyone in the village could abide by his moments of sheer stupidity, rashness, and aggression, but they sympathized with him enough to let Beau do odd jobs within the village and occasionally give him support--in the form of food, schooling, or a parental word or two. He was, in a sense, both the childish village orphan (who happened to live in his parents' empty house) and an independent-minded jack-of-all-trades. Beau has been no stranger to the occasional exploration or fisticuffs with wild Pokemon--although outside of the sanction of the guild. His quiet village life has been marked by frequent outbursts of wanting to find his father now, which means charging head-long into the cove or reefs on a ridiculous personal mission of some sort. Every time he has not been able to go as far as he has wanted, due to the limitations on his resources and own power. As such, for the past two years Beau has repeatedly applied to enter the guild as an apprentice Hunter, but each time the guild has rejected him, citing his dangerously rash, adamant nature. Leaders in the guild have encouraged Beau to work on staying calm and listening to others, and once Beau could demonstrate a more level-headed approach, he would be permitted to join. Beau has been struggling to implement this advice, however, and takes rejection from the guild as a rejection of his drive--even his personality! One day soon, perhaps, Beau will be able to join the guild. Until then, he must try to move forward. | [attr="class","glanceidol"]Beaumont [attr="class","glanceidol"]Beau [attr="class","glanceidol"]male [attr="class","glanceidol"]Carvanha [attr="class","glanceidol"]LVL 5 [attr="class","glanceidol"]17 YRS OLD [attr="class","glanceidol"]adamant [attr="class","glanceidol"]loves to eat [attr="class","glanceidol"]rough skin [attr="class","glanceidol"]played by malachy |
